Flue liner repair and relining in Tulsa
A sound flue liner keeps heat away from your home and smoke gases out of the brick.
Chimney and fireplace repair
The part of the chimney you never see
The liner runs up the inside of the chimney and carries smoke, heat and gases out of the house. You cannot see it from the room or the roof, which is why liner damage often goes unnoticed. An inspection finds it. Relining restores the protection.

What a chimney liner does
The liner is the inner wall of the flue.
Older masonry chimneys often have clay tile liners. Over time, tiles crack, joints open up and sections can go missing. When that happens, heat can reach the wood framing around the chimney, and smoke gases can eat into the brick and mortar from the inside.
A liner also sets the size of the flue. A flue that is the wrong size for the fireplace or stove can cause poor draft and more creosote buildup.
When a chimney needs relining
Most people find out their liner needs work during an inspection. Common reasons include:
- Cracked, shifted or missing liner tiles
- Damage after a chimney fire
- A chimney that was built without a liner
- A change to the fireplace or heating appliance the chimney serves
- Ongoing draft or smoke problems tied to flue size
How relining works
First we inspect the flue and show you what we found. If relining makes sense, we explain the liner options that fit your chimney and what each one costs. You choose. Then we reline the flue, clean up and walk you through the finished work.
If your chimney also needs smoke chamber parging or a new chimney cap, we tell you up front so you can plan the work together.

Flue liner repair and relining questions
Flue liner repair and relining FAQ
Another question? Call us and talk to a real person.
How do I know if my liner is damaged?
You usually cannot see it yourself. Liner damage is found during an inspection, when we check the flue from the inside. Smoke problems or a recent chimney fire are good reasons to check.
Should I reline after a chimney fire?
Have the chimney inspected before you use it again. A chimney fire can crack liner tiles. If the liner is damaged, relining is often the fix.
Does a newer home have a chimney liner?
Newer homes with factory-built fireplaces usually have a metal flue pipe instead of a masonry liner. It still needs regular inspection and cleaning.
